Tyra's Hijab Boutique began with a simple journey. In 2011, founder Tahira travelled from Manchester to Blackburn several times to find hijabs that complemented her outfits. On one of those walks to the shop, a thought took root: women in Manchester deserved a specialist hijab boutique closer to home.

Fashion had always been part of Tahira's life. With a natural love of colour, fabric and design, strong school results in Fashion and Textiles and Business Studies, and an NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration, she brought creativity and business experience together. After stepping back from property to devote herself fully to motherhood, she found the inspiration for a new chapter.

In March 2012, Tahira and her husband opened their first hijab business. The name came from her own—transforming "Tahira" into the shorter, memorable "Tyra's." What began with casual and occasion hijabs grew as they listened to customers of every generation and learned how modest fashion was evolving.

Over the years, the collection expanded to include Dubai-imported abayas, kaftans, long dresses and contemporary modestwear. Today, Tyra's is especially known for its extensive choice of hijabs—from plain and printed modal to jersey.

Customers now visit from across Manchester and travel from London, Scotland, Newcastle and surrounding cities to explore the variety of colours, fabrics and styles. The boutique's recent refurbishment, complete with a new shopfront and elegant cream-and-gold identity, marks the next chapter of the same vision that began on that journey to Blackburn, making beautiful modest fashion easier to discover.
